Warning: Spoiler Alert

Can the Fox Television Network revive the once vaunted “Mini-Series”? From the mid-seventies, until the early nineties, the format was a staple of every networks schedule. Some of the most prestigious and popular shows were “Mini-Series,” starting with “Rich Man, Poor Man” and the groundbreaking series “Roots,” and onto “Winds Of  War,” “The Thorn Birds,” “Shogun,” “V” and of course “Lonesome Dove.” However when the project’s quality slipped, viewers lost interest and the genre gravitated to Cable Networks, like HBO and Showtime.

Thursday October 2, Fox’s introducing what they’ve labeled a “Ten-Part Event Series,” based on a British original and starring the same man who played the lead in the British series “Broadchurch,” now playing an American version of his character. The new series, named “Gracepoint,” stars David Tennant (best known to American audiences as one of the most popular versions of “Doctor Who“) and former “Breaking Bad,” star, as detectives, attempting to solve the murder of a 12-year-old boy, in a small close-knit, Northern California seaside village. It’s the kind of town, where everybody knows each other and everybody’s a suspect.

Tennant’s character’s new to the town and a stranger to many, while Gunn’s character was born and raised there, but it’s her first murder investigation. The show airs on Fox at 9:00pm.

Join us later tonight as we break down the pilot, as well as analyze and speculate where the series’ headed.
