Warning: Spoiler Alert

Supernatural” is the best show on television, that you’re not watching. The CW series, heading into its tenth season already got their option picked up for the 2015-2016 campaign and seems to have enough in the tank to carry on indefinitely. The show that started out telling the story of a pair of brothers named Winchester, raised from childhood as demon-hunters, expanded into a tale of Heaven and Hell, averting the Apocalypse and last season saw all Angels banished from Heaven and sent to Earth to live among the mortals. We’re introduced to Cain, son of Adam and Eve. The story even debates whether God still exists and if so does he still care for humanity.

Although the show wouldn’t exist without Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean, (Jensen Ackles) two characters introduced a few years into the series’ run greatly added another dimension and entertainment to the series, one from Heaven and one from Hell. Castiel (Misha Collins) an Angel with free will has been the boy’s greatest ally since season four. Inspired by Dean refusing to allow the Arch-Angel Michael to use his body to take on Satan, he realized that people and Angels didn’t have to follow policies that disagreed with their principles.

Unfortunately misguided at times, he inadvertently caused the Angels expulsion from Heaven, tricked by Metatron (Curtis Armstrong) and losing his grace making him mortal in the process. Castiel stole the grace of another Angel, but it’s burning out. In the ninth season finale, Castiel defeated Metatron and the Angels returned to Heaven.

The other character is Roderick Crowley the King Of Hell now in charge of the underworld since Satan and Michael got trapped in a cage made specifically for them. Crowley’s been a nemesis to the boys, but certain events put them on the same side. That occurred in Season nine, as Dean and Crowley teamed up to defeat Abaddon, Crowley’s rival as ruler of Hell. Crowley introduced the older Winchester brother to Cain, who transferred his mark to Dean. With that mark Dean could control the “First Blade,” and eventually defeated Abaddon.

Dean appeared to have gotten killed by Metatron in the season finale, but the situation’s more complicated than that. Because of the Mark Of Cain, Dean didn’t die, instead turning into the thing he spent his life battling, a demon. Season Ten opens with Dean a demon, the new right-hand man for Crowley, while Sam and Castiel investigate ways to make Dean mortal once again. Dean, however has no desires to leave his present state, reveling in living the “Bad-Boy” life.

Our resident “Fangirl,” Samantha Jones convinced me a while back to start watching the series and I binged watching the first eight-seasons in less than two months. Yes, the series is that good. Although Season Nine, tended to stray a bit too much from the central story, it still wrapped up all the plotlines more than satisfactorily and left its viewers with an incredible cliff-hanger to spend the summer dwelling on.

Supernatural will premiere Tuesday October 7,  at 9:00pm on CW.
